Being a Private Investigator is the perfect job for smart-mouthed, insecure Alice Wunderlund who likes to hide in shadows. But when Allie is assigned to observe and record the daily activities of a British aristocrat, she starts to feel more like her namesake than is healthy. And when a gorgeous, lethal, hunk of an Irishman appears in her room, takes one look at her and bites her neck, she knows ‘Eat Me’ has just been taken to a whole new level.
Connor O’Brien is an ex-cage fighter turned Scorpio Son, one of an elite genetically engineered band of cloned warriors fighting to save the planet from secret invaders. When his brother Cam reports being watched, Connor goes to investigate, only to find more than he bargained for A mate who turns him from an easy-going player into a moody, one-woman-man in an instant.
But Allie isn’t looking for a mate, certainly not one who turns cat when aroused, so she gives him an ultimatum he can't possibly agree to. And Connor being Connor has to stubbornly call her bluff. With danger and intrigue surrounding them, can two strong-willed people find a way to come together to save the day?
This is the second in the series of stand-alone love stories that follow the exploits of the Scorpio Sons. It isn’t necessary to have read the first in the series to enjoy this one.
Scorpio Sons 2 Connor SF/Shifter Romance edition by Nhys Glover Romance eBooks
When I met Connor in Scorpio Sons 1, I really went for his Irish charm. And after reading the excerpt at the end of that book I was also very curious about Alice, his lady-to-be.I like how the heroine was introduced and I loved the way she first met the hero. They are fantastic together. The chemistry between them is there right from the start, there's no mistaking it. They are fun and sharp and always seem to have something witty to say. But they're also flawed, which makes them real to me. They are simply a delight to watch. (Did I mention I love that he's Irish? It's wonderfully portrayed here)
The pace is good, we get to see the characters grow and the world evolve (though the book is a stand-alone, we still get the feeling of learning more about their world - and ours).
A good addition to the series. It left me looking forward for the next installment.

Scorpio Sons 2 Connor SF/Shifter Romance edition by Nhys Glover Romance eBooks Reviews
Great 2nd book. There were times I liked Alice and times not so much. She was just so hot and cold toward Connor. We find out later why. Its how she grew up, her mom always trying to please everyone but herself and Alice didnt wanna end up like a Stepford Wife. Which I totally get. After I found all that out which we didnt until towards the end of the book, I liked Alice way better. Connor...oh how I loved Connor's Irish heritage! So sexy! I am intrigued very much with Cameron. Can't wait to read his story...hopefully he gets one! Colt and Alyssa are very much in this book too which I kinda like. Chase and the others not so much. Which is good because it you start putting a bunch of them in...sometimes it takes away from the main characters and the story. So, excellent job!
The Scorpio Sons are a group of pseudo were-panthers (only their eyes, teeth and fingertips shift) fighting "the Guild," an anciently arrived race of Aliens. Characterized by ruthless ambition and materialism, tmembers of the Guild blend seamlessly with the rest of the populace. The Guild's utter disregard for the health and well-being of the earth and its inhabitants may well lead to its destruction.
When spunky heroine Allie, a private investigator, comes face-to-face with Connor, a hunky Irish were-panther, her inner cat is activated for the first time. Though she is initially reluctant to acknowledge Connor as her mate, Allie seems to adjust to her newly revealed panther-ness very quickly, and enjoys wild sex with him. The Sons recruit Allie to help infiltrate the Guild's inner sanctum.
At the 80% mark, the team is preparing to join Guild leaders on a yacht cruise, intending to steal insider information that will help them defeat the Guild. Up to this point, there's been talk, spying and planning, but very little action towards that goal, and the story is nearly finished. If I can bring myself to finish the novel, I'll see if the final 20% redeems it. But as I don't really care about any of the characters, I may not bother.
Loved Connor he was hot
This novel was fun! I love the chemistry between our main characters. I had a laugh about Cam and his lady love, too funny. Possessive men, spy action, and evil guys on the loose!
I downloaded Scorpio Sons Connor as a free book from . This was a fast read, but the writer seemed to cram too much into a novella. May have been better as a full length novel so the reader had a chance to get to know and like the characters.
Have you ever read a book when at the end your like "how do people come up with this stuff?" Well that's how I felt at the end of this book. Wow that was a weird read. This is a totally new (at least to me) concept on shifters. You have aliens, alien DNA , aliens creating super soilders that end up going against the alien/humans because they 're like locusts going from planet to planet eating the resources destroying the planet then moving on to the next (sound familiar? Think Independence Day with a twist) throw in shifters finding their mates and its one wild ride. In my opinion this author tried to create such a new concept in shifter romance that she went to far out of the box, again at least for me. This was a free book, but sadly to me it was to odd a book to buy the next one. No cliffhanger and HEA with main two characters so bonus.
Loved it! I always worry about series. You know, sometimes the second book isn't as good as the first. But Conner's story, in my opinion, was even better!
Right away we're introduced to Alice Winderland, Conner's mate, and I have to say, from reading about Conner in the first book I wanted someone very special for him, and Alice was wonderful! I loved her witty comebacks and her tenacity! I was so happy about the way the two of them met and fell for each other! It was hot but still sweet--my favorite kind of romance. There's a lot of adventure, after all they are saving the world from the Guild. And I loved all of it! Can't wait for the next one!
